Why we don’t do freebies -

Many of us remember prettily packaged samples from the department store. I know I amassed my fair share of perfume samples (mostly because they were cute and my budget was small).

A quick search on reddit reveals that people have BIG feelings about brands and giveaways. But mostly about perfume brands - they don’t expect Tiffany’s to give away silver, or COACH to give away sample leather-goods.

Maybe that’s an unfair comparison. Scent is really subjective, and you do want to really test drive it before committing - however -

The cost of production for those perfume freebies is definitely passed onto the consumer because corporations have ad budgets to fund - and the samples aren’t free to produce.

Practices at Alchemy are in alignment with my own big feelings about keeping pricing fair and minimizing Alchemy’s contribution to waste.

The OG Patchouly Rose Oil + Companions

As a formulator I’m a big fan of products that are effective and flexible; like our original product Patchouly Rose Body Oil paired with a hydrosol and lotion.

Any of the products can be used individually AND when combined give you a lot of flexibility to give what your skin needs on a daily basis.

For example: mist the hydrosol for better absorption of the oil and lotion. Thin the lotion in your palm with a bit of hydrosol if you need some lotion, but not such a thick one. Need a little extra nourishment, add a pump of oil to the lotion in your palm. Use the hydrosol on it’s own anytime you need a refresh.

PS the Patchouly Rose oil can be used in your hair and as a pre-cleanse before your foaming cleanser.
